Michael Frontzeck takes over interim with VfL Wolfsburg
Frontzeck will derive the training of the wolves from Monday morning until further notice, said the club on Monday morning. The VfL, who has been cross-competition since eight games on a victory, plays in Leverkusen next Saturday (15.30, live! At Monday). Then the 57-year-old will sit on the bench, Sports Director Jörg Schmadtke confirmed on Monday, which once played in Freiburg together with the former Bundesliga professional and later worked together in Mönchengladbach and Aachen.
Frontzeck had recently worked as a head coach at 1. FC Kaiserslautern (36 second and third league games), previously he was active at Hanover, St. Pauli, Mönchengladbach, Bielefeld and Aachen as head coach. Last summer, he came across the Lower Saxony as a Wizard of Van Bommel.
The idea of a more experienced coach, I found exciting, he had praised the constellation in the Monday interview in September – and at the same time excluded that in the case of sports failure, he moves quickly to the head coach post ( no one loses the nerves ). Now it came differently.
At the front of Frontzecks, Vincent Heilmann, who had also belonged to Van Bommel s Trainer Team. Kevin Hofland (co-trainer) and Alex Abresch (video analyst) were released according to Club Indica.
