Shin Megami Tensei V is absolutely beautiful in this band

Shin Megami Tensei V Music Hits Different

In the wake of Shin Megami Tensei III release: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo shared a release date trailer for the next Shin Megami Tensei V. It was broadcast on day 4 of E3 2021 and It is absolutely beautiful. The new trailer resumes where the trailer ends, which means about 15 seconds to present our new protagonist before drawing it immediately in another dimension. In this alternative tokyo, angels and demons haunt the ruins of a post-apocalyptic city. Needless to say, an ordinary high school has no chance against these monsters. To survive, the protagonist must merge with a mysterious character and acquire the power of a fallen God. The process is much less disturbing than the way the protagonist of SMT III has become a half-demon, but it always has its fair share of horrible implications. After all, as pretty and brilliant as the new form of the protagonist, historically speaking, the humans merging with the demons did not end up in this franchise… and according to the tradition of the series, the gods and the demons are fundamentally the same kind of being.

SMT V seems to take some nervous nods: Automata in terms of central themes. According to the trailer, “the god you love is dead”, and a threatening voice puts the player to the challenge of creating his own destiny. Its mechanics, however, seems to be a classic SMT. As usual, the demons are visible on the map and the fighting in turn take place in a separate screen. The trading system will be back, allowing players to recruit demons or simply shake them for free stuff, just like the possibility of getting extra tricks to hit the weakness of an enemy. The merger of demons will also be back, bringing with it a ton of customization options in which players will be able to spend dozens of hours.

There are a variety of new and updated demons conceptions in this trailer and are beautiful. Just look at this new Cerberus design. In fact, just about all the visuals of this video are strangely beautiful, suitable for an SMT game. The Nahobino form of the protagonist has an aesthetic of smooth science fiction armor, but a long glossy and wavy long hair head adds a touch of another world to design. The science fiction armor and the surreal fantastic elements are both at ease in the dying world on which the game seems to focus.

Shin Megami Tensei V will be available on Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021. Pre-orders for Physical Edition will open on June 21st.
