Tennis: Rocker from Alexander Zverev to Double
Tennis Olympic Champion Alexander Zverev has done a bad outrode. After his double defeat at the ATP tournament in Acapulco, the German lost the version and left his anger at the referee chair. The ATP has disqualified the Germans immediately.
In Super Tiebreak, the Duo Zverev / Marcelo Melo (Brazil) had to be beaten 2: 6, 6: 4 and 6:10 against Lloyd Glass Spool (Great Britain) and Harri Heliövaara (Finland). Already at a ball change shortly before the end there was a verbal dispute between Zverev, who had seen a ball in the out, and the referee.
Zverev screamed the referee loudly (“You Fucking Idiot” – you damn idiot). A short time later, the round match was lost and when leaving the Courts Drosch Zverev with his racket several times on the chair of the referee, just barely past his feet.
The ATP responded immediately and disqualified the 24-year-old, who was elected to Germany’s athletes of the year last year, from the tournament in Acapulco. This will no longer be able to compete in individual.
There, the German number one day before in a historic night shift was defeated shortly before 5 o’clock local time the American Jenson Brooksby with 3: 6, 7: 6 (12:10) and thus reached the secondary final. No match had come to the end of Tournevel. The Munich Peter Gojowczyk benefits from Zverev’s disqualification and is automatically a lap.
